Bruce makes nine Sunderland changes for Carling Cup game

SUNDERLAND boss Steve Bruce has made nine changes for this evening's Carling Cup second-round game at Norwich. George McCartney and Kenwyne Jones are the only two starters at Carrow Road to have also started Saturday's 2-1 win over Blackburn. Jones will partner summer signing Fraizer Campbell in attack, with Grant Leadbitter partnering Teemu Tainio at the heart of midfield. Paraguayan international Paulo Da Silva will make his Sunderland debut in central defence, with Craig Gordon replacing Marton Fulop in goal. NORWICH (4-4-2): Alnwick, Otsemobor, Doherty, Spillane, Hoolahan, Whalley, Jones, Adeyemi, Lappin, Holt, Daley. Subs: Rudd, Nelson, Hughes, Martin, McVeigh, McDonald, Smith.
