Bruce hands debuts to Larsson and Brown

SEB LARSSON and Wes Brown are the only two new faces of Sunderland's list of summer recruits to start at Liverpool on the opening day of the Premier League season today.  [LNB] Larsson looks like he will be playing on the left flank, with Ahmed Elmohamady included in the starting line-up, meaning Lee Cattermole and Jack Colback are likely to play centrally.[LNB] There is also a place at the heart of the defence for Anton Ferdinand. But Ferdinand, who many feel will make way for Titus Bramble or John O'Shea eventually, has the shirt on day one and will be aiming to keep hold of it.[LNB] Other new signings Craig Gardner, Connor Wickham, David Vaughan, Ji Dong-Won and Keiren Westwood are all on the bench.[LNB] Liverpool, meanwhile, have handed a competitive debut to former Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson, who left the Black Cats in a deal worth £20m in the summer.[LNB] Former Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing also starts for the Reds after his summer switch from Aston Villa, while Jose Enrique slots in at left-back after completing his £6m switch from Newcastle yesterday. [LNB] LIVERPOOL (4-4-2): Reina; Flanagan, Carragher, Agger, Enrique; Henderson, Lucas, Adam, Downing; Suarez, Carroll. Subs: Doni (gk), Meireles, Kuyt, Spearking, Ngog, Kelly, Robinson.[LNB] SUNDERLAND (4-4-1-1): Mignolet; Bardsley, Ferdinand, Brown, Richardson; Elmohamady, Cattermole, Colback, Larsson; Sessegnon, Gyan. Subs: Gardner, Wickham, Vaughan, Ji, Bramble, Westwood (gk), Laing.[LNB]
