Steve Bruce has played down reports linking Sunderland with a move for Wigan winger Charles N'Zogbia before the transfer window slams shut.[LNB] N'Zogbia has been tipped for a summer exit from the DW Stadium with a number of rival Premier League clubs believed to be keen on the new France international.[LNB]Bruce brought the talented wideman to the Latics during his spell in charge of the North-West club, but has played down suggestions of an imminent reunion with the former Newcastle player.[LNB]He told Sky Sports News HD: "I like Charles, but I think it would be unwise of me to get involved with that one. [LNB]"We haven't had any contact or made contact with Wigan as such.[LNB]"It's certainly media fiction in a lot of respects." [LNB]Bruce has money to spend before the transfer window closes at 6pm on Tuesday August 31 following the £8million sale of Kenwyne Jones to Stoke.[LNB]And the Wearside tactician is eager to reinvest those funds in his squad provided he can find the right player.[LNB]He added: "I would like to bring a couple of faces in but whether that is possible at the moment, I'm not quite sure. [LNB]"But I would like the chance to, if that is possible."
