Wes Brown played his first full game in over a year as Sunderland’s development squad defeated Blackpool at the Academy of Light in a behind closed doors friendly at the Academy of Light.

He played 90 minutes as Ryan Noble and Alex Gorrin grabbed the goals in the 2-1 win.

Brown gained valuable match time as part of his recovery from a knee injury, but obviously it's a long road to gaining match fitness.
