Brazilian Turned Down Sunderland

Brazilian midfielder Daniel Bessa has revealed he turned down Sunderland to join Olhanense.

Paolo Di Canio thought he had won the race to sign Bessa on loan and was confident of sealing a deal for him.

However, the 20-year-old chose to leave Inter Milan on loan for a stint in the Portuguese league.

"I had an offer from Sunderland but that wasn't the football I wanted. I watch the Portuguese league and it's fast and technical," Bessa told Maisfutebol.
