Blues eye Tainio deal
Birmingham City are keen to snap up Sunderland's Teemu Tainio, skysports.com understands.
Blues boss Alex McLeish is a thought to be a big fan of the Finnish midfielder, who looks set to be surplus to Steve Bruce's requirements.
Bruce has already brought in Lee Cattermole and Lorik Cana this summer, meaning Tainio could be allowed to move on.
Tainio signed for Sunderland last summer from Tottenham and made over 20 appearances for the club.
Birmingham are now looking to seal a deal for the 29-year-old before Tuesday's 5pm deadline.
