Blue Moon makes Bruce green with envy
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce will lock horns with Manchester City counterpart Roberto Mancini on Sunday freely admitting he is envious of the Italian's breathtaking spending power.
Bruce was among the crowd at Eastlands last Monday evening to see City dismantle Liverpool, and was blown away by the quality of the players who could not even make the starting XI.
He said: "I went to watch them last Monday against Liverpool, when they played fantastically well.
"The five subs cost £100million and behind me, there were five people sitting in suits who cost £100million too, so that's what you are up against, that's what the Premier League is.
"We are all jealous really, if the truth be known. We would like it washed around and to have a level playing field.
"But if you look at all of the big clubs, they have all had one thing: the spending power and attraction that makes them a big club.
