Black Cats land Nyatanga

Sunderland have landed Derby County's promising central defender Lewin Nyatanga on loan until January.

The 18-year-old is the youngest ever full Wales international after being called up by coach John Toshack for March's goalless draw with Paraguay.

But despite featuring 27 times for the Rams last season, Nyatanga has found opportunities limited under new boss Billy Davies and hasn't featured in the first team at Pride Park since September.

The Burton-upon-Trent-born youngster played for Wales in their two recent Euro 2008 qualifiers against Slovakia and Cyprus.
