Black Cats win Tote Cup

Oumare Tounkara scored two late goals as Sunderland reserves claimed the Tote Cup with a 3-0 win over Walsall.[LNB] Keith Bertschin's young second-string side triumphed at Eppleton CW in a final that was held over from the end of last season.[LNB] Jordan Cook broke the deadlock in the first half, drilling a penalty into the top left-hand corner of the net after James Armstrong had been fouled.[LNB] Tounkara doubled Sunderland's lead with five minutes left, latching on to John Egan's through ball before slotting home.[LNB] And the striker, who spent the majority of last season on loan at Oldham Athletic, scored his second goal of the night in stoppage time to confirm victory.[LNB] Sunderland: Carson, Bagnall, Liddle, Reed (Marrs 90), Egan, Laing, Mitchell, Armstrong (Elliott 78), Tounkara, Laidler (Gorrin 81), Cook.[LNB]
