Black Cats to face Blues on Wearside

BIRMINGHAM CITY will provide Sunderland with their opening match of the Premier League season at the Stadium of Light on August 14.

The first Tyne-Wear derby of the season against Newcastle United will be held at St James' Park on October 30.

On November 13 they face title hoders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge before facing a trip to last year's runners up Manchester United on Boxing Day.

The New Year starts with a home fixture against Blackburn Rovers before January 22 sees the return fixture of the Tyne-Wear derby against Newcastle at the Stadium Of Light.

The season comes to a close on May 22 with an away trip to the east end of London to face West Ham United.
