Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has confirmed he has made an enquiry to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on loan.[LNB] Bruce is looking to bring in a keeper on a temporary basis before the start of the season after losing regular No.1 Craig Gordon to injury.[LNB]He is now trying to entice Hart to the Stadium of Light after the England keeper returned to City after spending last term on loan at Birmingham.[LNB]Hart is challenging Shay Given to be Roberto Mancini's first choice, but has admitted he would be prepared to go out on loan again in order to play regularly.[LNB]The Black Cats have made an approach and Bruce is now waiting on City to give him answer.[LNB]"We've asked the question of City and we now just have to wait and see what they say," Bruce told the Sunderland Echo.[LNB]"But the timetable is not up to us on when we get an answer, it's up to them.[LNB]"With these new 25-man squad rules, clubs don't have to name their confirmed squads until the end of August, so if they wanted to, City could delay any decisions on their squad until then."[LNB]With Martin Fulop set to join Ipswich Town, Bruce wants a keeper with top-flight experience rather than having to risk rookies Simon Mignolet and Trevor Carson.[LNB]He added: "Premier League experience is important, but there are not too many keepers who would fit the bill for us as short-term replacements - Hart is one, (David) James was another.[LNB]"But they are few and far between and I'm not planning to turn my eyes down towards the Championship.[LNB]"There's one or two players there that we have looked at in the past, but they lack Premier League experience too and I'd rather go with Simon and Trevor until Craig returns rather than bringing in someone who's equally untried."
