Black Cats complete first summer signing

The Sunderland Survival Saga continues under Gus Poyet as the Black Cats sign the West Brom defender, Billy Jones, on a four year deal that will see him become a Sunderland player ready for the new season.

Jones has played over 70 times in three years for West Bromwich Albion and is extremely happy with his new move north to the land of football mania and equally interesting managers.

Talking to the SAFC website, Jones said, “I've come to the training ground today and it's amazing.”

As Gus Poyet seeks to strengthen his back line, one has to ask how secure this move will make their defence for the new campaign.

This watcher and writer was hooked last year as Poyet took over the reins and more than likely, will be equally as addicted next year as they seek to finish higher in the league.
