Bent handed Black Cats award

Darren Bent has been named Player of the Year by Sunderland's supporters after netting 24 goals in all competitions this season.[LNB] The 26-year-old has been in great form since his £10million summer move from Tottenham and was presented with his award at a ceremony at the Stadium of Light after topping a poll of supporters' clubs from around the North-East.[LNB]Bent told the club's official website: "I am honoured to receive this award from the fans.[LNB]"I have had a brilliant time this season and to have these fans backing me at such a great club is fantastic.[LNB]"Hopefully I can make it a double by picking up the club's official award too before the Man United game."[LNB]
