Bendtner received a boot in the face from Angel Rangel at Sunderland 2-0 win over Welsh side Swansea at the weekend. It was first feared that the striker had also picked up damage to his eyes but further investigation by doctors have show to be fine.
On loan striker Nicklas Bendtner could have to wear a mask if he wants to face that small town in Yorkshire, Middlesbrough this Sunday or could miss it altogether.
