A spokesman for David Beckham has denied a report linking the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder with a short-term switch to Sunderland.
The Daily Mirror reported on Tuesday that Black Cats boss Roy Keane was keen to tempt the former England captain to move to Wearside during the MLS' close season.
However, Beckham's spokesman said: "There will be no loan moves or short-term contracts. He is under contract to the Galaxy."
Beckham has played just five games for the club since his summer switch from Real Madrid.
He currently has a knee injury although his absence has coincided with Galaxy making a late run for the play-offs.
Keane has already brought former Manchester United team-mates Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole to the Stadium of Light.
