Newcastle United defender Sebastien Bassong claims he is in talks with two unnamed clubs over staying in the Premier League.
The form of the 22-year-old defender was one of few positives for the Magpies during a turbulent last season which ended in relegation.
Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland have both been linked with summer moves for the former Metz youngster and Bassong himself now claims a move away from St James' Park is on the horizon.
"I have started to negotiate with two English clubs," he is quoted as saying.
Bassong made 30 Premier League appearances during his debut season in England last term.
