Bardsley: Cats were a shambles

27 April 2009 08:45
Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley has labelled the Black Cats' performance in their 3-0 defeat at rock-bottom West Brom as a 'shambles'.Ricky Sbragia's side began poorly and it did not get much better as the game wore on as the Baggies took a massive leap towards safety.Goals from Jonas Olsson, Chris Brunt and Juan Carlos Mensequez sealed Sunderland's fate to send them dangerously close the drop zone. The Wearsiders are now four points from safety with just one win in nine and Bardsley knows that performances need to improve if they are to survive."It was a total shambles from start to finish," the defender told the Daily Star."If we're going to survive we need to do better than that."We let everyone down - the manager, the staff, the fans and it's up to us to put that right."[LNB]
