Baggies must wait on Morrison
Key midfielder James Morrison's participation in the final month of West Brom's season is hanging in the balance because of a heel problem.Morrison was forced to miss the 3-0 home win over Sunderland at the weekend after the injury, which has troubled him for several weeks, flared up.The Scotland international will be monitored by the Baggies medical staff but manager Tony Mowbray admits it is touch and go regarding how much further involvement he will have this season.Mowbray said: "I think it's a wait-and-see scenario with Mozza (Morrison). The best-case scenario is he feels fine and has a chance for the weekend game at Tottenham."The worst-case scenario is he isn't fine and it could be weeks and weeks. He's been on antibiotics and they have basically done the job."It was as bad a blister as you've seen, with skin growing over skin over skin. It became infected and the antibiotics have cleaned the infection up. All the soreness and redness has dissipated."But let's wait and see. The medical people might need to go in and scrape some of the dead skin away. If that's the case then he'll need a period of recuperation."It's not an operation. It's just a procedure to remove dead skin. Like I said, let's wait and see."Morrison has been one of Albion's most consistent performers in a season of under-achievement.Central defender Abdoulaye Meite is battling to overcome the hamstring strain sustained during the first half against Sunderland for the trip to White Hart Lane.The former Bolton player has been dogged by various injury setbacks during his first season at the Hawthorns.Mowbray said: "I think Meite has a minor hamstring strain. That is a wait-and-see scenario for us as well. Unfortunately for Abou, it's either been his calf or his hamstring."We'll see whether it's a two-week thing or eight weeks."Abou's not happy that he's not been fit all season.
