Argentine club Velez Sarsfield today issued a statement confirming they have agreed a fee with Sunderland for right-back Peruzzi and he is heading to Wearside with two club officials to complete the deal.
The Echo reported yesterday how Peruzzi had left the door open on his £4million switch to the Stadium of Light after rejecting Sunderland’s financial offer earlier this week.
The Argentina international has now reached an agreement over an improved offer from the Black Cats and he will undergo a medical on Wearside later this week before completing the formalities of his transfer from Velez Sarsfield.
