Anton still looking over his shoulder despite a Hull of a win for Sunderland

Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand is refusing to get carried away by his side's first win in nine games. Ricky Sbragia's side eased their relegation worries for one week at least with a vital 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Hull City on Saturday. Djibril Cisse's goal has taken Sunderland above the Tigers and they sit four points clear of the bottom three. But former West Ham defender Ferdinand, who was reunited in a back four with on-loan Hammers centre back Calum Davenport, knows Sunderland need two more wins to be certain of staving off a charge from local rivals Newcastle United and Middlesbrough. Ferdinand said: 'I'm not putting any kind of target or anything on it. I don't want to say one more win, two more wins. 'We're just taking each game as it comes and looking to win every single game they play from now until the end of the season. It might not happen but that's the kind of mentality that you've got to go out on the pitch with. 'The win on Saturday lifts a big weight off us, definitely. It gives us more confidence and it's just good to get back to winning ways for the fans. 'But the boys haven't been lacking for confidence of belief - maybe we've missed that bit of luck but not confidence.'
