Dick Advocaat is back in talks with Sunderland over the vacant post of head coach after performing a sensational U-turn.
Press Association Sport understands the 67-year-old Dutchman, who took charge at the Stadium of Light for the last nine games of the season and kept the Black Cats in the Barclays Premier League, has reconsidered his decision to retire from club football.
Discussions have now resumed and Sunderland are hopeful that they can secure Advocaat's services once again to guide them through another period of rebuilding.
