Stuttgart no to van Bommel

Stuttgart have denied reports that they are lining up a summer move for Bayern Munich's Mark van Bommel.

The Netherlands international is out of contract at the Allianz Arena at the end of the season and is expected to move on.

But Stuttgart have denied suggestions that they are keen to sign the former PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona midfielder.

"This is not a topic of discussion," said sporting director Horst Heldt.

"I don't like to take part in these kinds of conversations, because you leave the door open to saying negative things about a player that your club are not even interested in pursuing.

"I am not questioning Mark van Bommel's talent. He simply doesn't fit into our system."
