Hleb explains Inter snub

Barcelona winger Alex Hleb has explained his decision to join VfB Stuttgart on loan, instead of heading to Serie A champions Internazionale.

Belarus international Hleb had seemed all set to become an Inter player along with Samuel Eto'o as part of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's move to the Camp Nou.

But Hleb backed out of the deal at the eleventh hour and opted to rejoin the Bundesliga side, who he spent five years with prior to a move to Arsenal.

The Belarus international has signed for Markus Babbel's side on a one-year loan after an unsuccessful year with Barca.

"I decided to join Stuttgart because the team have a lot of potential and I am convinced that together we can succeed," he said.
