Gross eyes Barcelona scalp

Stuttgart coach Christian Gross has admitted a Champions League victory over Barcelona would be the greatest achievement in his lengthy career.

Gross takes his Bundesliga hopefuls to the Camp Nou on Wednesday evening for the second leg of a last 16 tie which is level at 1-1 following the first encounter in Germany two weeks ago.

Speaking about the trip to face the reigning European champions, he said: "We are very much looking forward to the game and we are highly motivated.

"It is absolutely possible that we can put on a performance over 90 minutes in Barcelona as we did in the first 45 minutes of the first leg.

"A win over Barcelona would be the greatest success in my career as a trainer to date."

Meanwhile, Alex Hleb will play against his parent club after the on-loan midfielder shrugged off the effects of a heavy cold.
