Cacau pens new Stuttgart terms

Stuttgart have confirmed that striker Cacau has penned a new three-year deal at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

The Brazil-born Germany international was widely tipped to leave the Bundesliga outfit in the summer when his original contract was due to expire with the Premier League and Serie A likely destinations.

But he has ended speculation linking him with a switch away from Germany and the news has delighted sporting director Horst Heldt.

Speaking to reporters, Heldt said: "We always wanted Cacau to stay with us, so we're very happy that that's now the case."
