Head coach Markus Babbel has been given a vote of confidence despite Stuttgart's disappointing start to the Bundesliga season.

Babbel's future was brought into fresh doubt following Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Hannover - their third loss on the spin.

"We are patient," said director of sport Horst Heldt. "He is not only our coach because he worked well last season, but also because he is working well now.

"We now need wins. It is very hard after four straight defeats to talk about an upwards trend."
