Babbel admits to tough task

Markus Babbel has admitted that he is facing the toughest task of his brief managerial career after Stuttgart lost to Bundesliga basement club Cologne.

Stuttgart were booed off the pitch by their own fans after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at the Mercedes-Benz Arena just days after failing to overcome Rangers in the Champions League.

"For me as a coach, this is my toughest situation so far," admitted Babbel.

"We have got to just take a step back from our aims and get back to the basics.

"We need to return to our values, which we are missing at the moment."
