Sam McCloskey and Lee Mair miss crucial Cowdenbeath clash

Stranraer are without Sam McCloskey and player-assistant manager Lee Mair as they bid to beat Cowdenbeath and seal a Ladbrokes League One play-off place.

The Blues have a different objective from their second-bottom opponents and manager Brian Reid said: "If we win we are in the promotion play-offs and unfortunately for Cowdenbeath they will be in the relegation play-offs.

"If we don't win then we may not make them and I do not want matters getting taken out of our hands.

"We have been strong at home throughout 2016 and hopefully that strength will see us come out on top."

The Blue Brazil have Chris Kane available after a ban as they bid to secure survival.

Jamie Sneddon (thigh) and Fraser Kerr (hand) remain out, with Jack Beaumont, Liam Callaghan, Lewis Milne and Declan Hughes all doubts.

Manager Colin Nish said: "We know that we need a win to have the best chance of avoiding the play-offs so it is disappointing that we could be missing a good number of midfielders.

"However we secured a great result at Stranraer earlier in the season when we won 3-0. Stranraer have improved month on month since then but another win is not beyond us."
