Stenhousemuir add to Stranraer's misery

Stenhousemuir condemned Stranraer to their fourth straight defeat with a 2-1 Scottish League One result at Stair Park.

Both sides had the chance to break the deadlock in the opening exchanges, but visiting goalkeeper Jamie Barclay denied Ryan Thomson and Luciano Nequecaur and Scott Robertson fired wide, while Alan Cook missed the target at the other end.

The visitors took the lead midway through the first half as Mark Gilhaney slotted Jason Scotland's long ball from his own half into the bottom corner.

Gilhaney set up Jason Scotland for Stenny's second goal 10 minutes after the break as the Trinidadian striker fired the ball into the bottom corner for his third goal in two games.

Ryan Thomson pulled one back for the hosts late on, but it was too little too late.
