Moffat earns Pars the points

A second-half strike from Michael Moffat sealed victory for Dunfermline in a bad tempered 2-1 win over Stranraer as both sides finished with 10 men.

The away side started strongly and were rewarded after just five minutes when Gozie Ugwu stabbed home from a free-kick for his third goal in two league games.

But things went sour for the Pars after 35 minutes when defender Ross Millen was shown a straight red after he brought down Jackson Longridge. New signing William Gibson made things worse when he converted the subsequent free-kick to make it 1-1.

Stranraer were then sent down to 10 men early in the second half, when Craig Malcolm was given his marching orders after two bookable offences.

Dunfermline seized the initiative and grabbed the winning goal on 63 minutes when Moffat slammed home from 10 yards out following clever play from full-back Ryan Williamson.
