McAllister double sinks Stranraer

Rory McAllister scored twice and Jordon Brown and Leighton McIntosh added late goals as Peterhead won 4-0 at Stranraer to pick up their first victory of the new Ladbrokes League One season.

The Stair Park encounter was barely five minutes old when Stranraer defender Scott Rumsby brought down McAllister to concede a free-kick in a dangerous position.

Striker McAllister dusted himself off before unleashing a low free-kick past Blues keeper Conor Brennan to give Peterhead the lead.

Stranraer paid for a glaring second-half Jamie Longworth miss when McAllister doubled Peterhead's lead and his match tally on 57 minutes when he guided James Stevenson's corner past Brennan and into the back of the net.

Brown headed in a third goal on 79 minutes and substitute McIntosh added a fourth from close range moments later to add gloss to an already comprehensive victory for Jim McInally's side.
