Forfar hit Stranraer for four

Stranraer slumped to their second heavy defeat in a week with a 4-0 mauling at home to 10-man Forfar.

Dale Hilson's ninth goal of the season put the visitors ahead after only seven minutes as the striker slotted home Chris Templeman's pass from close range.

The Loons were reduced to 10 men after 23 minutes when Darren Dods was given his marching orders for a rash challenge on David McKenna.

The home side could not take advantage though and Forfar doubled their lead after 35 minutes when Omar Kader provided a cool finish to Martyn Fotheringham's pass.

Fotheringham then put Forfar three-up from the penalty spot on the hour mark before Gavin Swankie added a fourth for the Loons seven minutes later, smashing home past Stranraer's David Mitchell from Hilson's pass.

The win takes the Loons into fifth in the table, within three points of the play-off places.
