Four for Forfar

Forfar recorded their first league victory of the season with a convincing 4-0 romp at home to Stranraer.

The Loons won their last home league game by the same margin against Albion in April and were sent on their way to victory when Gavin Swankie tucked away Mark McCulloch's pass from close range after eight minutes.

Danny Denholm found the bottom corner with a left-footed strike five minutes after half-time to double the hosts' advantage.

Two minutes later, Stranraer defender Mark Staunton headed into his own net to give Dick Campbell's side an unassailable lead.

The Blues were presented with a route back into the game from the penalty spot in the 59th minute, after Martyn Fotheringham had fouled Mark Staunton inside the area, but Grant Gallagher failed to convert.

Fortheringham latched on to Swankie's ball eight minutes later to score his first goal of the season and seal victory.
