Whelan signs four-year Stoke deal

Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan has signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club.The Republic of Ireland international joined the Potters in January 2008 from Sheffield Wednesday for £500,000. "I'm obviously delighted," Whelan told BBC Radio Stoke. "Once we got it all sorted, it was just a case of getting it signed and I'm really happy."
