TP Confirms Move For Midfielder

Potters hopeful of swap deal with Pompey Stoke manager Tony Pulis has admitted his interest in bringing Portsmouth captain Marc Wilson to the Britannia Stadium, with David Kitson set to go the other way. TP confirmed when asked by a reporter from The Sentinel earlier that the clubs were nearing a deal that would see central midfielder Wilson join the Potters with former Potters record signing David Kitson heading back south, where he craves to return to. Wilson, 23, has inherited the Pompey captaincy this season after two years of consolidating his place in the first team at Fratton Park. Kitson, 30, is also attracting the interest of QPR and there has been talk of a loan move to Portsmouth but the Potters hope that the fact that Pompey will get a striker that they desperately need to halt their slide in the Championship will allow the Potters to land their man, even though West Brom have already had a £3m bid rejected. City are reportedly valuing Kitson at around £2m but could drop that to ensure they get Wilson to bolster a midfield that has been dominated by the opposition so far this season. A busy final six days of the transfer window is coming up for the Potters with City having been linked with a plethora of talent in the last few days, and City keeping their options open whilst also looking to offload a few players.
