Tag woe troubles Pericard
12 Oct 2007 - 13:05:15
Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard has been re-arrested after his electronic tag fell off for a second time during a reserve team match on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old made a goalscoring return for the club's second string in midweek in his first outing since being released from prison after serving five weeks of a four-month sentence for perverting the course of justice over a motoring offence.
But Pericard's joy at scoring was dampened when he was re-arrested after the tag came off for a second time.
The monitoring device first came loose during a training at the beginning of the week.
"Stoke City can confirm Vincent Pericard has been re-arrested due to problems concerning his electronic tag," confirmed a club statement.
"The club are hopeful the matter will be quickly resolved. No further comment will be made at this time."
