Stoke wait on Sidibe scan
14 Dec 2008 - 14:37:10
Stoke City are anxiously awaiting news on the severity of the injury suffered by Mamady Sidibe during Saturday's goalless draw with Fulham.
The Mali international crumpled in a heap after winning a header just 90 seconds into the game.
The big striker received treatment for four minutes before he was carried off with a knee injury and replaced by Richard Cresswell.
"The injury affected everyone. He's been such an important player for us this year," admitted manager Tony Pulis.
"When Mama goes down and doesn't get up, you fear the worst."
Sidibe will now undergo scans on Monday to reveal the full extent of the injury.
"It's been a disappointing week in terms of injuries because we lost both Andy (Griffin) and Salif (Diao) late on," continued Pulis.
"When you add them together with the likes of Dave (Kitson), Ryan (Shawcross) and Mama it all piles up.
"These things happen some times and you just have to ride the storm and get through it.
"The lads who came in today were fantastic though and they all put in a shift.
"It is another point at the end of the day and I think we are in a pretty good position."
