Stoke talks concern Etherington
07 May 2010 - 09:25:03
Winger Matthew Etherington has revealed he is in a contract deadlock with Stoke City.
Etherington, 28, is the Potters' five goal top scorer in the Premier League this season and manager Tony Pulis is keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
The former Tottenham and West Ham wideman still has two years remaining on his existing deal at the Britannia Stadium but is frustrated with a lack of progress over talks concerning a new contract.
Etherington has demanded parity with the club's top earners following an impressive season.
"I just want to be on a par with top earners at the club," he told The Sun,
"For some reason, they don't want to do that."
The former Peterborough United youngster has been at the Britannia Stadium since a £2million move from West Ham in January 2009.
