Stoke Sort Out Huth Deal At Last
Stoke have been boosted by the news defender Robert Huth has penned a new four-year deal with the club.
It took them long enough to do it in their usual fart about way of going about things, but in the end they recognised that class is class and worth that few bob extra.
There were reports from dodgy sources that German clubs were interested in his signature and if that was true it would have been a massive blow to the Potters who rely so much on the partnership between the big German and Ryan Shawcross.
Everton and Sunderland were also said to be interested but in the end the player chose Stoke.
"I am delighted that it has all been sorted out before the start of the season,"Huth told the club’s official website.
"I've had a fantastic time here, the best three years of my career. It's been great to play a big part in the club's progress over that period, but also to gain some personal recognition with the Player-of-Year awards which I won at the end of the last two seasons.
"I have ambitions in the game and I am relishing the chance to achieve them here at this football club, so I can't wait for the new season to come around."
