Stoke offer Sidibe new deal

Stoke striker Mamady Sidibe has been offered a new 12-month contract despite not having played a first-team match for two years.
The 32-year-old has struggled with his fitness after dislocating his knee, injuring a cruciate knee ligament and twice snapping an Achilles tendon. But having already undergone eight months of rehabilitation he is looking forward to starting pre-season training after admitting without a new contract he would probably have quit the game.
"I have just talked to the club and they have offered me another year to get me fit again," the former Mali international told The Sentinel.
"Without the contract it would be very difficult for me, especially after being here for seven years.
"Without the club helping me I think I would completely stop. Probably I would retire.
"But Stoke has always treated me well and it's a big boost to know I am going to be here next year.
"Probably people don't expect me to be playing for the team but I will give my best and only God knows what will happen.
"I hope to be fit to start pre-season training with all the other players.
"It would mean a lot for me to do that because I cannot remember the last time I started pre-season with the rest of the squad."
