Stoke continue striker hunt

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has turned his attention elsewhere after failing to land Portsmouth striker David Nugent on loan.

The Potters chief admitted defeat in his bid to lure the out-of-favour England striker to the Britannia Stadium earlier in the week.

However, he is still keen to provide cover for leading scorer Ricardo Fuller, who is poised to start a two-match ban after accumulating ten yellow cards during the course of the season.

"We are still trying to pursue one or two avenues with Saturday in mind," he told the Sentinel.

"When Ric isn't doing it, we need another threat.

"We need that player who has the pace to get behind defences like he can."
