Sorensen extends City stay
13 Nov 2009 - 07:34:01
Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has signed a contract extension to keep him at the Britannia Stadium until the summer of 2011.
The 33-year-old Denmark international joined the Potters in the summer of 2008 and has quickly established himself as first-choice for Tony Pulis' side.
He told the club's official website: "I feel as though I can go on for at least another four or five years, but when you get to a certain age, so much can happen with injuries and fitness that you cannot look too far ahead.
"I am really enjoying my time at Stoke. With the new training ground, everything is looking up.
"We have a very good first team, things are going well in Premier League and I am pleased to be part of that.
"I want to keep playing for as long as I am good enough, fit enough and have the desire. It's fantastic that I have so much to look forward to over the coming months with both Stoke and Denmark."
