Sorensen enjoys City upturn
30 Mar 2010 - 09:35:32
Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is pleased that his side have been able to improve their away form this season, having garnered just ten points on their travels last term.
A 1-0 victory at West Ham United meant that the Potters have now earned 16 points away from the Britannia Stadium, with Sorensen believing that the improvement is well-merited.
He told The Sentinel: "We are a lot more comfortable and controlled. We have the confidence to push up higher.
"Last year we sat back and allowed the opposition to have the initiative, but this year I think we taken the initiative away from home.
"There were a few situations in the second half at West Ham where we controlled the game. It is great when you can do that away from home.
"There were a lot of goalmouth scrambles last year where we were hanging on. It is still hard work this year, but it has been easier.
"I don't think we are looking over our shoulders any more. We are looking to improve on last year and we have set ourselves a target to hopefully get 46 points and see where that takes us."
