Stoke City's Mali international Mamady Sidibe hopes to return to action next month following his lengthy injury lay-off.
The 29-year-old has been sidelined for almost six months after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury but has set his sights on an October comeback.
He told the Sentinel: "Hopefully, in about ten days, I'll start touching a football again.
"I can't wait because that's a big moment for any footballer when you come back from injury. It means you're getting well again.
"Then maybe I train with the rest of the team by the end of the month, but I know I must not rush it.
"But what's another two or three weeks when you've been out for six months? The specialist said six months at the start of the injury, so hopefully I will be playing a reserve game in October if all goes well.
"Sometimes, when you watch a game, you start thinking you might come back earlier. But I know I cannot take that risk."
