Sidibe agrees new Potters deal

Mali international Mamady Sidibe thinks he is playing the best football of his career after agreeing a new contract with Stoke City.

The 30-year-old former Swansea City and Gillingham star has inked a new deal that will keep him at the Britannia Stadium until the end of the 2011-12 campaign.

"I am very happy here and so I didn't have to think twice about it when I was asked about a new contract," he told the Potters' official website.

"The best of my football has been here and the dreams I have achieved have been with Stoke. I am also very happy in the area. I live ten minutes from the ground and my family have settled here very well.

"I didn't want to go anywhere else. When you have been somewhere for five years, then it is not easy to leave.

"People see me as a big, strong, physical player, but even if I am playing well I want to score more goals.

"Even though I'm not scoring goals, the supporters have been fantastic, they keep me alive and I always want to do my best for them. It is important for any player to know the fans are behind you. I don't want to disappoint them."

Sidibe has found the net 25 times in 167 appearances for the club.
