Former Sunderland, Manchester City and Leeds United boss Peter Reid has been confirmed as Stoke City's new assistant manager.
Reid has agreed a termination of his contract with the Thai Football Association after coaching the national team for the last 12 months.
"I've come to an agreement with the Thai FA," the 53-year-old told the Potters' official website. "They've been very helpful and I've got a great relationship with the chairman Worawi Makudi.
"I'd like to go on record in thanking them for everything - being an international manager is great.
"But the pull of working with Tony Pulis and a club like Stoke City, in the Premier League, was just too great to turn down."
Reid had been keen to carry on working in both roles, but admitted: "Logistically it was just too difficult to stay on. But we shake hands and go on our separate ways.
"I still have many friends over there, though, and will always look out for their results."
