Pulis wary of complacency
19 Apr 2009 - 07:21:32
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis still does not believe his side are safe from the drop even after the impressive 1-0 victory against Blackburn Rovers.
Liam Lawrence's second half-goal lifted the Potters eight points clear of the drop-zone with only five games of the season left, but Pulis is still wary of his side slipping straight back into the Championship.
"It's an enormous win against a team that's down there scrapping for their lives. It was a big game today," he said.
"I'm just very pleased we've come away with the three points. But I still think you have to get into the 40s because teams can go on a run.
"Fulham and Bolton did it last year when they picked up a lot of points coming to the end of the season, so we'll be desperately keen to go to Fulham next Saturday trying to get that elusive point or three points."
