Pulis wants more protection for players

Boss Tony Pulis wants referees to better protect his players after seeing Ricardo Fuller given a rough ride during Stoke's clash with Wolves on Saturday. Pulis was furious referee Chris Foy declined to show any yellow cards for two early fouls on Fuller that left him with separate injuries at the start of the 2-2 draw at the Britannia. "The first two challenges on Ric were absolutely shocking. We are being told all the time that referees are going to look after skilful players," Pulis told The Sentinel. "You have a look at the back of Ric's Achilles and the top of his knee. I don't think we get decisions other clubs do. "He got kicked on the knee and got a cut on the back of his calf, so he struggled for the rest of the game. He's got a stud mark right below the knee. If that had been us playing away from home, we'd have been punished for that."
