Pulis vows to go all out for win
12 Feb 2010 - 12:05:28
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has pledged to pick an attack-minded side for Saturday's FA Cup fifth-round clash with Manchester City.
Pulis had three forwards in Ricardo Fuller, Mamady Sidibe and Sanli Tuncay on the pitch in the closing stages of Tuesday's Premier League draw with Wigan Athletic and has hinted that he could do the same again for the trip to Eastlands.
The two teams will also go head-to-head in a Premier League encounter at the Britannia Stadium next week.
"I'm looking to pick a positive team and go there to have a right go," Pulis told the club's official website.
"I'm sure the last thing that (City boss) Roberto Mancini wants and we all want is a draw. So it's gloves off because I think both sides will want a result one way or the other.
"It's going to be very difficult for us, but Manchester City have spent an absolute fortune on players and they will be expecting a return for that investment. They've got two chances to do that by winning the cup or qualifying for the Champions League.
"So there is that pressure on them, whereas we're the underdogs and we're looking forward to it.
"We'll go there, give it our best shot and who knows, if we produce the right performance, we may just may be able to deliver that knockout punch."
