Pulis still believes in Kitson

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis remains confident that striker Dave Kitson will eventually prove his worth at the Britannia Stadium.

The 29-year-old struggled following his £5.5million arrival from Reading a year ago and ended the season back on loan with the Royals.

However, Pulis told The Sentinel: "You just hope Dave puts it all together.

"I still think he's a very good player, he just had a bad time because he never scored goals.

"If he did and got his confidence back, he would show what a good player he is.

"There were a lot of things going on in his personal life, but I think those things are more settled now.

"Your family and what happens behind the scenes is very important to players. Mentally, they have to be really switched on at this level."
